Las Vegas is full of family-friendly surprises: world-class museums, hiking trails just minutes from The Strip, indoor theme parks, aquariums, and beautiful botanical gardens that most visitors never get to see.

Whether you live here or you're bringing your family for a visit, this city has so much more to offer than the neon signs and late nights it's famous for. There are real neighborhoods, incredible outdoor spaces, and genuine community — and we love being part of it.

We put this guide together from the heart — the spots that actually work for families, the hidden gems worth seeking out, and a few things that make Las Vegas unlike anywhere else.

Big Apple Coaster at New York-New York
#5

#6

Cirque du Soleil — Mystère

One of Vegas's most iconic shows is also genuinely family-friendly. Mind-bending acrobatics, stunning costumes, and a live band make this feel like pure magic for kids and adults alike.

Book ahead — this one sells out regularly.

Local Tips From Las Vegas Families

Go to Red Rock Canyon before 8 AM in summer. The heat is brutal by 10, and you'll have the trails almost entirely to yourself.

The Bellagio fountains run every 15 minutes at night. You don't need to rush — but the 8 PM show on Friday nights is extra long.

Spring Preserve is dramatically underrated by tourists. Las Vegas locals consider it one of the best weekend spots for kids under 10.

If you're flying in with a pet, McCarran (now Harry Reid) airport has dedicated pet relief areas in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.

Adventuredome offers "all-day" passes that are genuinely worth it if you have more than one kid and plan to stay 3+ hours.

Discovery Children's Museum offers reciprocal membership benefits with ASTC — if you're a member of a science center back home, check if admission is free.
